Postboxed came out of a need. I needed to find a postbox near the office and couldn’t find one or an app to find one. So I started postboxed, I wained half-way through, some other people had the same idea, I got my head down and finished the app and now I have some competition. Now I need to make it better. So if you like it and you want it to do more or less, then you can share your thoughts with others.
Postboxed is made by me Tom Philip. This app revives my Java experience from years ago and starts my new adventures in Ruby. There’s not a .NET in sight in this project.
I couldn’t have done this without help from these people.
Thanks to Tom Taylor for making the request (and putting postboxes on iamnear.net using my ‘API’), Edward Betts for parsing it into TSV, Nick Burch for help and suggestions, OpenStreetMap for maps and postbox/ post office seeding, Abi Broom for requesting the last collection times, and Peter Chamberlin for making a further request.
